Mark Studio
Privacy Policy
Mark Studio is a local-first Mac and iPad application. The developer does not collect, receive, sell, or share personal data.
Data collection
Mark Studio does not require a user account and does not operate a hosted backend service. The app does not collect analytics, telemetry, tracking data, or advertising identifiers of any kind.
File access
Mark Studio works with Markdown files and folders chosen by the user. File access is limited to locations you open directly through the system file picker or folders you explicitly authorize. Authorized folder access is persisted using platform security-scoped bookmarks so you are not prompted repeatedly for the same location. Access can be revoked using Mark Studio › Settings… › Reset Cache and Permissions…. On Mac this clears Recent and saved folder access while preserving Favorites; on iPad it clears the local Favorites, Recent, and saved folder access held by the app.
Application preferences
Mark Studio stores application preferences in the platform UserDefaults system. This includes settings such as the last-used view mode, sidebar state, and similar interface preferences. These preferences are stored locally on your device.
iCloud
When iCloud Drive is available, new documents can be stored in Mark Studio's iCloud Drive folder and are synchronized by Apple through the user's iCloud account. On Mac, Favorite metadata for eligible iCloud Drive Workspaces may also synchronize through the user's iCloud account. Folder permissions and security-scoped bookmarks never synchronize; they remain local to each device. Mark Studio does not send iCloud data to the developer.
Data sharing
Mark Studio does not transmit document content, personal data, usage data, or file metadata to the developer. When you choose iCloud Drive, Apple handles synchronization under your iCloud account and Apple's privacy terms.
