Mark Studio 1.2 · Native Markdown editor for Mac and iPad
Mark Studio is a local-first editor for Markdown documents and Workspaces, with live Preview, navigation, search, and HTML and PDF export on Mac and iPad. No account is required, and you choose every external file or folder the app may access.
Version 1.2 · Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or iPadOS 17 or later. Available on the App Store.
Current release
Mark Studio 1.2 comes to iPad and expands the Mac app with linked-document publishing, safe Workspace reorganization, and continuous Preview selection.
Create or open documents and Workspaces through Files, then work in Editor, Split, or Preview with autosave, Chapters, Search, and export.
Export the active document and its reachable local Markdown links as one navigable standalone file or a predictable collection of HTML pages and assets.
Drag files, supported assets, or folders onto another folder. Mark Studio preflights the move, preserves open context, and rewrites relative references.
Copy continuously across paragraphs, lists, quotes, tables, and code while responsive tables keep their dedicated copy and export actions.
Safe Workspace file operations, inserted image assets, session restoration, conflict-aware autosave, Settings, portable HTML export, and fenced-code highlighting made the local-first workflow complete.
Click any screenshot to view it full size. Use arrow keys or the on-screen buttons to browse.
Open any folder as a Workspace on Mac or iPad. Browse and search Markdown files, organize the tree, or jump to headings with Chapters.
Editor and rendered Preview work side by side on both platforms. The iPad layout adapts to available width; Mac adds click-sync and continuous selection.
Export a portable Standalone HTML file or HTML + Assets. Print or export to PDF, or share the Markdown source and rendered PDF from the toolbar.
On Mac, select any .md file in Finder and press Space to see a fully rendered preview without opening the app.
Mark Studio does not require an account and operates on files you choose. New documents can use the app's iCloud Drive folder when available; external file and folder permissions stay on each device, and document content is not sent to the developer.
